What does triple dyed mean? Are they a darker shade of black?

The dye goes all the way through the leather.

A bit less so than with surface dyes because it's been dried as well as dyed three times. It's supposed to make the dye impermeable to, for example, acids and enzymes that might be around a ranch ....
